A substantially extended and modernised country cottage set in the Lake District. Keeping and enhancing traditional features with the installation of modern solutions such as new insulation and under floor heating. Also taking advantage of renewable energy resources with a multi-fuel stove connected to the under floor heating system. Traditional style sash windows with the latest argon filled low e-gases using up-to-date u-values to meet regulations.
Locally sourced materials were used as much as possible for this refurbishment including the green oak used to manufacture the trusses, natural stone throughout the ground floor, Burlington green slate roofing and reclaimed limestone walling to match existing.
