Knipe Fold Cottage / Hawks Head / Lakeland 

This Project involved the extensive renovation and extension of this 300yr old former tied Lakeland cottage.
Local building materials had to be sourced often from the same location, as the original materials to maintain the properties ascetic integrity.
With the introduction of local slate, stone and English green oak beams
Whilst bringing the property in to line with the highest levels of insulation securing a heat loss calculation far in excess of the current building regulations requirement.
By implementing high specifications to all element of the exterior of the building.
The introduction of renewable heating sources namely solar and ground source heating employed to heat the property via an under floor heating system to both the ground and first floors. The domestic hot water system is also provided for with in this state of the art system.
The ground source heating system operates at an efficiency rating of 400% Resulting in the property attaining a low carbon impact and the highest levels of environmental efficiency.
Due to the efficiency of the properties structure and the solar, ground source systems combines in low running costs and low environmental impact.
